Pictures post

Okay, I’ve been taking some pictures this week but only just now downloaded them to my computer. So here they are, starting with some yummy…

…eggs for breakfast!

I would not, could not eat red eggs….
That’s what happens when you crack the eggs directly into the pan!

And, some more kitchen creations!

Make some pizza dough… (very quick!)

Roll it into a rectangle approx. 1/4″-1/3″ thick, and layer with meat slices (I used turkey) then cheese mixed with mayo (I’ll skip the mayo next time) and anything else that sounds good, to me, mushrooms and bell pepper.

Fold one long side over 1/3, then the other side (so they meet in the middle) pinch seams closed

Place seam side down on greased cookie sheet, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes. Voila!

I’d like to try many variations on this in the coming weeks. Think of all the possibilities….
~scrambled eggs (with bacon or sausage, if you eat those things) and pepper jack cheese, bell pepper, mushroom
~ground turkey(or beef) with italian seasonings, pizza sauce, pineapple, black olives, mozzerella
~sauteed zuchini, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, spinach & pepper jack
any ideas for a quick meal??

I also made homemade corndogs for the children the other night. They don’t like hotdog buns, so I figured I’d give this a try. Very quick, really. I almost didn’t get to taste them! I had one bite, though, and it was tasty. They sure wolfed them down!

Dip the dry (cooked) hotdog in the batter:

Fry in hot oil, turning once, until golden brown!

We had problems with the downstairs floor being wet after running the washing machine (which is on the 2nd floor) when we first moved in. M stayed in the laundry room watching a whole load run and it seemed fine. I’ve been doing laundry with no problems for 3 weeks, then a few nights ago after running a load in the evening I walked over the spot on the carpet and realized it was wet again. Oh dear, it’s having problems again. The next day I completely forgot about that though, and ran a load of laundry. This is what I saw a little later:

Previously there had been no evidence of water on the wall or ceilings, only a wet spot on the floor. There is a couple small cracks in the ceiling, too, but not hardly noticible unless you were looking for them. I poked a hole in the bubble to let the water out, the weight of the water was causing the bubble to slowly slide down the wall, causing more damage. This is actually the archway between the diningroom and livingroom. M peeled the puffy paint off the wall when he got home. He said he’s fixed these kinds of problems at work and thinks we’ll probably need to cut a hole in the wall to access pipes.

I believe the plan is for him to look at this on Saturday, I hope it doesn’t take too long, and I hope he can fix it. I need to be able to do laundry!!

Here’s some pics I took while my friends were visiting yesterday! I don’t think I had any pictures of them!

Mrs. B holding C and her daughter K (she’s a cuddlebug!):

She was talking to….
Mrs. P!

Her older daughter K was reading to younger K and some of the other children that came along later.

Adorable “baby” M (gotta stop calling him that, he’s over a year old now!

I love the two-finger thing!

As they were getting ready to leave, we discovered Mrs. P’s son J has the same hat as M. So we had to get a picture of them!

We had a great time. Mrs. T and her children came only about 10 minutes after the B’s and P’s left. But I forgot to take any pictures then.

C has started (about a week ago) smiling at me. It’s SO adorable and precious! I have some video of it that I’ll have to upload. But for now, here’s a still shot I was able to capture.

On that note, I’ll close!

Actually, the kiddos didn’t seem to like it too well, I don’t think they liked the “bread” part. They don’t generally like the bread on regular sandwiches too well anyways. I didn’t care for the mayonaise-y taste to it. I used “Safflower” (I think?) brand mayo, it’s a natural mayoniase and I don’t like the taste of it. I was afraid to omit it entirely, thinking it might be too dry without it, but it turned out fine so next time I’m leaving it out and will just use plain cheese.
