Trying to get on some blog rings

I’m trying to get on some blog rings but I can’t figure out where you are supposed to put the site ring info and link on wordpress. I might end up having to get a different blog somewhere else.

 Does anyone know?

You need to copy and paste the html into your template. Or if all else fails move it to Xanga where everything is easy and you’ll be connected to me 🙂

Amy, did you try the links I sent you?

There are two ways to do it:

    Method 1:

Go to “Blogroll”. Then click “Add Link”. Then copy the image location (you’ll have to do that wherever the blog ring site is… right click on the image and select “copy image location”) and put it in the “Image URL” field (under “Advanced”, so scroll down). Add a description if you’d like. In “Address” you’ll need to put the web address where you want the link to take people when they click on it.

Now the most important part is selecting a category. You should create a new one, like “Blog Rings” or something like that. Then click “Add Link”.

Now, in your dashboard, under “Presentation”, then “Sidebar Widgets”, make sure you have the “Links” bar included in your sidebar (by the looks of your blog now, you already do). Then, “Save Changes”.

Now in the side bar, you should have a section, just like “Blogroll” and “Websites” but it will be called “Blog Rings” and have the photo from the blog ring show up.

    Method 2:

You could also add the picture in your text widget, like this:

Go to “Presentation”, then “Sidebar Widgets”. Get an unused “Text” widget and put it in the location you want it in the sidebar. Then add this text to the widget:

The second way seems easier to me! I hope you figure it out!

Oh, my comment didn’t include the text you’re supposed to put in the text widget. Oops…

    [a href=”the site to link to”][img src=”where the badge is” /][/a]

But everywhere there is “[” use “”

Sorry, I guess the syntax is falling through. Use instead of [ ]

Okay, just delete my comments. I can’t get it to work.

Instead of [ or ] use the greater than or less than signs in the Text Widget for Method 2.
